The retyping is the actual problem
Most shops are not short of invoicing software. They are short of invoicing software that knows what the quote said. So the same fourteen line items get typed once for the estimate, again for the bill, and a third time at the end of the month for the books.
Three passes, three chances to fat finger a number, and the one that gets fat fingered is the one that goes to the customer. This does the second pass for you and hands the third one to QuickBooks as a file.
We do not collect your money
This is worth being blunt about, because a lot of tools in this category do and people assume. We make the invoice. Getting paid stays between you and your customer. We never hold your money, never sit in the middle of the transaction, and never take a percentage of a job you did.
If you want customers to pay by card, put your own payment link on the invoice. It is your link and your merchant account, and nothing about it runs through us.
We never message your customers
No review requests, no marketing, no automated follow ups, no texts you did not write. We do not have a route to your customer list and we are not building one.
This is on the list because of what happens when a vendor does have that route:

That one is about the contract rather than the messaging, but it is the same shape of problem: a tool that holds something of yours, and a company on the other end who decides what happens to it. The way to not do that to people is to not hold anything in the first place.
Your invoices when you stop paying
They are on your machine, in your browser, because that is where they were the whole time. Cancel and the export button still works. You keep every PDF you ever made and every CSV you ever exported, and you can pull the whole lot out as one file any time, including after you have left.
That is not generosity, it is that we never had them. There is no server of ours holding your customer list to be switched off.
The tradeoff, said plainly: switch computers or wipe your browser and they are gone unless you exported. Use the export button now and then.

Invoicing questions
Do I have to retype the quote to make the invoice?
No. The quote becomes the invoice, carrying the customer, the line items, and your branding with it. You change what changed on the job and add what was added.
Does it take card payments from my customers?
No. It produces the invoice; collecting the money stays between you and your customer. We never touch your customers money, never hold a balance, and never take a percentage of your jobs.
What happens to my invoices if I cancel?
They stay where they are, which is in your own browser rather than on our server. The export button keeps working after your subscription ends. You just cannot create new invoices until you start paying again.
Can I put my own logo on the invoice?
Yes, on every invoice and every quote, on the included plan. There is no higher tier that unlocks branding, because charging a one-person shop extra to not look like our software would be a strange thing to do.
Will you email or text my customers?
Never. We do not have a route to your customers and we are not building one. You send the invoice yourself, from your own email or your own phone, exactly as if you had made it in a word processor.
